Are you wondering what my upcoming book, The Peasant Queen, is about? Well, for starters, it’s a loose retelling of the book of Esther (one of my favorite Bible stories!). I started with the core of this epic Biblical tale and created another young woman in a different time and place that also finds herself in a king’s palace, with the fate of a kingdom–and more–resting on her shoulders. Here’s my back cover blurb:

I’m SOOO excited to share this story and these characters with you! Arabella and Rowan are so dear to my heart. They came alive to me as I wrote them, at times even telling me how their story should go instead of the other way around–especially Rowan. In the end, he refused to fit into the path I’d already set for him and I was forced to go a different direction. If you’re not a writer, I know that probably sounds craaaazzzyy, like I’m not quite right in the head. Ha! But if you are a writer, I know you know what I mean!
