Author of the Month For the Book Lovers

Author of the Month: Laura Frantz

It’s time for my next Author of the Month! And this month’s pick is the incredibly talented Laura Frantz! I’ve been thrilled to get connected with her on Instagram over the last year. She is sweet as can be and has been so kind and encouraging to me!

Laura hasn’t been on my list of auto-buy authors very long–only for the last two years or so–but I have become a huge fan of her writing style and she will forever remain a favorite now. She has such a beautiful way with words and uses them to paint breathtaking word pictures that bring her stories to vibrant life. Oh, to be as eloquent as Laura!

The first book I read by Laura was Mistress of Tall Acre. Something about it really piqued my interest when it first came out, so I added it to my wish list and that year I got it as a birthday gift. It’s a beautiful, romantic, marriage-of-convenience story (my fave trope!) and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

As much as I enjoyed Mistress of Tall Acre, for some reason I didn’t read another of Laura’s books until The Lacemaker released in 2018. The cover of this book… It was love at first sight! Seriously, it is so simple and yet so unique and gorgeous! And the story was equally gorgeous. This was the book that truly cemented my love for Laura’s writing and made me a big fan.

So far, my favorite of Laura’s books is her 2019 release, A Bound Heart. I read it just prior to starting this blog, so sadly I don’t have a full review of it. But oh my goodness, this book is amazing! **All the heart eyes** It had a lot of Poldark vibes to it (even the cover model reminds me of Demelza), but it’s set in Scotland/America instead of Cornwall. The love story in this is just THE BEST. It’s also so fun that the book is loosely based on Laura’s own Scotish family history!

This one made my list of TOP 5 FAVORITE READS OF 2019, and I honestly wouldn’t mind rereading it someday–if I ever get the time!

While A Bound Heart is my favorite Laura Frantz book, her latest book, An Uncommon Woman, isn’t far behind. This was one of my first reads of 2020 and it will likely make my list of favorite reads of the year! You can check out my review of the book HERE.

Now that brings us to the books by Laura that I haven’t read yet! There are sadly too many of them on this part of the list, but I aim to rectify that in time! Most of them are at least waiting for me in my kindle or on my bookshelf.

But wait! There’s more! Laura has a new book coming out in just two months! AHHHH! I am so completely excited for this book. It is definitely one of my most anticipated reads of 2021 and I will be getting it as soon as possible.

Just look at that gorgeous cover! I think it’s tied with The Lacemaker for my favorite cover of Laura’s. I just love, love, love how the background looks like a painting! Revell certainly hit it out of the park with this design; I’m sure it will be even more beautiful in person!

Have you read any Laura Frantz books yet? If not, what’s stopping you? These colonial-era masterpieces are sure to make you fall in love with her writing as much as I have.
