Author of the Month For the Book Lovers

Author of the Month: Kristi Ann Hunter

This month’s Author of the Month feature is… **drumroll** Kristi Ann Hunter! Not only is she a talented writer, but she is down-right hilarious, guys. She is so fun to follow on Instagram and I look forward to her “Friday Funnies” in her IG stories every week. I also eagerly listen to each new episode of the podcast she does with her friend and fellow Christian Author, Lindsey P. Brackett, called A Rough Draft Life.

If you’ve never read one of Kristi’s books before, here’s how I like to describe her writing style–it’s all the fun of your favorite 90’s rom-com meets the era and romance of Jane Austen. Sounds like the perfect combo right?!

I discovered Kristi shortly before the release of her debut novel, A Noble Masquerade, came out in 2015. The premise of it sounded so fun, and the book ended up being just that–a delightfully fun romantic read that I really enjoyed.

I eagerly purchased Kristi’s second book, An Elegant Facade, even though it centered around my least favorite character for the first book in her series. I thought Georgina was nothing but a spoiled brat and a horrible sister. BUT Kristi totally surprised me by taking me into the heart behind Georgina’s facade and you know what happened? I ended up loving this book for than the first one, and to this day it’s probably my favorite of Kristi’s books.

The rest of Kristi’s Hawthorne House series was equally as charming, humorous, and beautifully written as the first two books. Book three, An Uncommon Courtship, has my favorite romantic trope–a marriage of convenience–and book four, An Inconvenient Beauty, has my favorite hero of the series, the oldest Hawthorne sibling, Griffith.

After such an incredible first series, I was excited to see what Kristi would write next. That turned out to be the Haven Manor series, which centers around three young women (one of which is a secondary character from the Hawthorne House series) who secretly establish a home for illegitimate children. I have read the first two books in the series, and have book three waiting on my bookshelf. So far the first book was my favorite and I would say it is my second favorite of Kristi’s book, if not tied for first with An Elegant Facade.

Kristi’s latest series is entitled Hearts on the Heath. Book one, Vying for the Viscount, released last summer and book two, Winning the Gentleman, releases THIS Tuesday, 4/20! I am still waiting for the chance to get my hands on these beauties (just look at those awesome covers!), but I know they are going to be just as excellent as her previous books! I can’t wait to hear what book three is about and see it’s cover!

If you’re in the mood for a short read, especially if you’re wanting to give Kristi’s books a try but aren’t ready to commit to a full novel, she has several novellas available as well, which serve as companions to her series.

Have you read a Kristi Ann Hunter book before? If so, I’d love to know which is your favorite! And if you haven’t read one of her books yet–what are you waiting for?? She’s sure to become one of your auto-buy author’s just as she is for me!
