Author of the Month: Jody Hedlund
Happy June, everyone! Can you believe we are already almost halfway through the year? Craziness!
With the summer season upon us, it’s the perfect time to lay out beside the pool or on the beach with a good book! If you’re in search of some summer reading, check out the books of my Author of the Month pick for June-Jody Hedlund!
I discovered Jody’s books many years ago but never took the plunge and gave her books a try until 2015 when the first book in her Noble Knights medieval YA series released. I loved An Uncertain Choice-just look at that gorgeous cover!-and quickly became a fan, eagerly reading the rest of the series and taking an interest in other books by Jody.
My favorite book of the Noble Knights series ended up being For Love and Honor! And fun fact: I won a signed copy of book five, A Worthy Rebel, on the day we started setting up for my wedding! That was just a great day for me all around LOL!
The Noble Knights
Recently, Jody has been self-publishing some more amazing YA medieval books, first in the Lost Princesses series and then the Fairest Maidens series! If you are a fan of medieval romances, fairytale retellings, or just clean, sweet YA fiction in general, then you definitely want to give these amazing series a try!
The Lost Princesses
The Fairest Maidens
If you aren’t interested in YA and would prefer something more geared for the adult Christian fiction audience, Jody has several series of beautiful historical romance tales! Some of them I’ve read and others are still sitting on my TBR, but any of them are sure to please! By far my favorite out of this group that I’ve read is Newton and Polly. It’s a gripping, beautiful, and powerful story about the real life romance between John Newton and his wife Polly. An absolute must read for all Christian historical fiction fans!
Hearts of Faith
Michigan Brides
Beacons of Hope
True Love Stories
Orphan Train
The Bride Ships
I do want to make special mention of Jody’s 2021 releases. This lady is a writing machine, y’all! She has a 1800’s western romance series that launched this year with Bethany House, stepped out into in a new genre this month with the first book in a new time-crossing series, and even teased her followers with the news of a new YA medieval romance series she will be announcing soon (I’m dying to hear what it’s about!!!). I just finished reading her new time-crossing (AKA time travel) book, Come Back to Me, this week and let me tell you, it is AMAZING! I could not put it down! I won’t say too much about it right now though, because I will be sharing my review of it very soon-so stay tuned!
