Review: Dark of Night by Carrie Cotten
Carrie did it again, guys!! She wrote another incredible, thrilling, roller-coaster ride of a book that had me dying to read a chapter and then and another! And now I have a book-hangover and don’t want to read anything else! #TheStruggleIsReal
A New life, a new love, and even a new name. For former secret agent Andromeda Stone - now Joanna Carter - a normal, boring life with her handsome husband was the happy ending. But an old enemy has resurfaced, determined to leave nothing unfinished and Andy must step back into the nightmares once again. Andy and Will each face their own worst fears in the search for answers, only to realize there is much more than answers at stake. Will this new mission cost Andy more than she’s willing to pay?
Dark of Night picks up about a year after the first book, Dreamwalker, ended and dives straight into the action and mystery. Andy has come a long way from where she started at the beginning of the first book, but you quickly see she still has so much to learn about God and about herself. It’s soooo hard to talk about the story itself without giving away a ton of spoilers for both book one and this book! There’s so much I wish I could say!! Ahhhhh! What I can say is that her search for answers to the questions she was left with after Dreamwalker is so twisty-turny it left my head was spinning (in the best way). I was constantly trying to unravel the tangled web of mystery and truly didn’t have it all figured out until the end-and even then, there are still some questions that have to be answered in book three!
I loved getting to see Andy and Will’s relationship grow throughout this book, and see them fight for their future together. And boy does Carrie make them fight for it! **all the tears!** My heart could hardly take it!! Seriously, I nearly had a heart attack a couple of times! LOL! Will himself really shined in this book. He is just so sweet and amazing! **again, tears!** I loved getting to know him more and see his selfless love for Andy play out in such a beautiful way.
Once again, the message Carrie weaves into this complex, action-packed story touches the reader in a profound way. This isn’t just a fluff read. This book has substance and spiritual meat that leaves you enriched and encouraged by the end of it! It’s worth every bit of 5/5 Stars and more-plus, it will most likely make my top reads of the year list alongside Dreamwalker!!! I’m now dying to read book three! I can’t wait to see what happens next in Andy’s story! So, if you’re reading this Carrie, no pressure or anything but… please write faster! LOL!
**I received a copy of this book from the author for review, but was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are completely my own.**
