Book Review: The Hidden Prince

Man, Tessa has done it again!! Not that I ever had any doubt whether I’d love this book, as I’ve loved everything of hers (there’s only one I haven’t read yet). Tessa’s signature wit, charm, and masterful character development is laced through every page. From the prologue, I was hooked! Then that early twist that I didn’t see coming… I literally gasped out loud over my lunch at work. And that wasn’t the last twist Tessa threw my way. There were multiple points later on that pivoted the story in a new direction, keeping me eager to find out what would happen next. When the identity of the titular hidden prince was revealed, my mind was blown. Pretty sure I gasped out loud over that too LOL. I absolutely love how Tessa had her fictional characters’ lives intersect with this real historical figure. I felt the wonder, right alongside Keren, at how God can weave our stories in such a beautiful way, no matter our mistakes or shortcomings.

Speaking of Keren, I adored her! Her personality and thoughts had me smiling and giggling on numerous occasions. She feels so real, and so very human, that you just can’t help but love her and feel like she’s a friend. But she isn’t the only loveable character in this story! Jared…  **sigh** He was such a great hero and I loved his friends-to-more relationship with Keren. And then of course, I must mention Artadates! He’s such a hilarious and adorable little boy, and seeing his sibling-like relationship with Keren, filled with plenty of witty banter, was so fun.

Whether you’ve never read one of Tessa’s books, or are a longtime fan, The Hidden Prince is a book you do not want to skip. Get your copy ASAP! I know you won’t regret it! 500/5 Stars!
